More Than a Bookstore. A Place to Belong.

What started as a dream is now a reality.

Welcome to The Book Cellar, where books bring people together and community, culture, and conversation come to life.

What began as a dream of creating a space where people could gather, discover great books, share ideas, and feel a true sense of belonging has grown into something bigger than we could have imagined.

Today, The Book Cellar is a Black woman-owned independent bookstore, coffee shop, café, and community gathering space that has become a prominent part of Conyers and the surrounding area.

Our more than 6,000-square-foot space was created for readers, families, creatives, entrepreneurs, book clubs, and anyone looking for a place to connect.

Walk through our doors and you'll discover shelves filled with new books, an amazing coffee shop and café, inviting spaces to gather, and a calendar filled with book clubs, author appearances, children's activities, workshops, community events, and unique literary experiences.

We proudly celebrate diverse voices, champion local and independent authors, and create opportunities for readers to connect with nationally recognized authors and the stories they love.

But our mission has never been limited to the walls of our bookstore.

We believe books should be accessible, shared, and placed into the hands of people throughout our community.

The Book Cellar Facts

An Independent Bookstore for New Books

Our shelves feature a thoughtfully curated selection of new books across genres, with titles for readers of all ages and a commitment to highlighting diverse voices and stories.

Coffee Shop & Café

Come for your next great read and stay for coffee, café favorites, conversation, or a little time to yourself. Our café has become an important part of the Book Cellar experience—a place to meet, work, relax, and connect.

Author Events, Book Clubs & Experiences

From intimate book club conversations to author appearances, workshops, children's programming, and signature events, we create experiences that bring readers, writers, and our community together.

Helping Build a Conyers Tradition

In 2023, The Book Cellar helped host the first Conyers Book Festival, bringing together authors, readers, families, vendors, and the community for a celebration of books and literacy.

What started as a new community event has grown into an annual Conyers tradition, and we're proud to continue helping bring the festival to our community each year.

Founder of the Cellar Literacy Circle

Our commitment to literacy goes beyond selling books.

The Book Cellar is the proud founder of the Cellar Literacy Circle, a community literacy initiative created to help put books into the hands of people throughout our community.

Through our mobile bookstore, we take books beyond the walls of The Book Cellar and directly into the community, helping expand access to books and encouraging a love of reading wherever we go.

For us, literacy isn't simply part of our business—it's part of our purpose.

Come for the books. Stay for the community.
